eCommPro
now uses PayPal's IPN method for placing new orders to your
back-end system (the eCommPro Database). This is a huge
improvement over other shopping cart versions that use the
auto-redirect method. Your customers do not have to wait for the
re-direct back to your site from the paypal checkout flow. As
soon as the customer has made a payment to you
PayPal immediately sends an IPN POST to your web server where the
eCommPro IPN program is waiting for any POSTs to come in. Upon
receiving a POST your eCommPro IPN will verify the POST data with PayPal
to make sure that it came from there and will then place the new
order into your database. The customer receives a FORM button to
click which will return them to the customer area of your site
(Customer area is included with eCommPro). From the customer
area customers can, among other things, print a receipt of their new
order and immediately download any digital item that they may
have purchased from you.

You
can have a small message sent to your cell phone, pager, PDA or any
other device that accepts SMS (Short Message Service) messages through
email, each time that you receive and order.
Most
cell phones can accept SMS messages via an email address. The SMS
address for your phone is usually your phone number @ some domain. For

UPS
Real-time shipping rates is now integrated. You have the option to use
UPS Real-time Shipping Rates and Services or you can use Flat Rate
Shipping (explained below). Using UPS Real-time shipping rates and Services
you get the current rate, based on the order's total weight, in
Real-time right from the UPS server. Your customer selects their preferred
shipping option from a drop down select menu of the shipping options
available from UPS. Such as Standard Ground, 3 Day Select, Overnight
or whatever is available between the two zip codes - yours and the
customer's shipping postal code.

Tracking allows your customers to track their packages through each
step of shipment.

Rate Shipping
Using
Flat Rate Shipping you set a Shipping price and a Handling price for
each item.
The
Handling price is applied to each item once whereas if there are

You
can sell downloadable items. There's a link on the receipt page
for the customer to download your product if you mark it as
Downloadable.
Notes Boxes
You
can choose to have a "Notes" input box at any, all or no
items. When you choose to display the Notes box for an item you can
also enter a title/instructions over the notes box as in example
item Case1001
in our demo. The customer can send a special note for any item that
you choose to display the notes box on.
Database Driven:
The first thing you must realize about a database
driven shopping cart system is that you don't create a web page for
each product that you're selling. As a matter-of-fact, you don't have
to create any pages. It's all done for you! You simply add the
product's information to a database (using an easy form) and the
shopping pages pull all the product information, including it's image file
names, from the database.
A
database driven shopping cart system makes getting your products up
and maintaining them unbelievably quick and easy. This is the method
that almost all internet stores use.
*Note:
You can still create
your own pages to display products and then put
an "Add To Cart" FORM button near that product. There are
detailed, easy to follow instructions included with your shopping cart
software.
Ecomm Professional uses a Microsoft™ Access database (included). The
MS Access Database is a small file that resides on your web server like an image or other file. Empty it is about 400 KB or a
less than half of 1 MB. There is no limit to the number of records
that can be stored in an Access Database. MS Access databases do have
a limit of 2 Gigabytes (GB) or 2048 MB in size. That's huge! We have
tested Access Databases with 34,776 records with no trouble. File size
was 30 MB or 1.5% of total capacity. [Demo]

Secure
Order Form:
Using the PayPal option for check out
you no longer need a security certificate on your web server. The
credit card information from your customers is entered on a secure
PayPal page. When processing is done you are re-directed back to your
receipt page.
If you have a merchant account and wish
to use the Authorize.Net payment gateway you will need a security
certificate. Ecomm Professional uses the https://
protocol to securely transmit credit card and other important data
over the internet. This is required to use Authorize.Net. You must
have a security certificate installed on your web site. Ask your web
hosting company to install the certificate.
Any Item can be marked
as a "Featured Item". There is a Featured Items page that
will display all of the Items that you mark as Featured.
Built-in
Search Engine
Ecomm Professional
comes with a built-in Search Engine. There is an Input box on top of
every page in the shopping area. Customers can search your database
for the Items they need by typing keywords into this box and clicking
Search Products. The Search Engine will search the Item Number,
Description, Details, and Features fields of your database with 100%
accuracy.
The Mini Cart is a summary
of the customer's shopping cart. It's in the header of every shopping
page. Mini Cart displays the total quantity of items, and the cart total. [Demo]
Stock Control
When you
add Items/Products to your database you enter how many of that
Item you have in stock. As you "Fill an Order" Ecomm Pro
deducts the quantity sold from the current stock quantity of each item.
At any time you can check to see how many of an Item you have in stock
from Control Panel.
Tax Options
You have
the option to charge all customers Tax or not charge Tax at all.
If you
charge tax you then have the following options:
The option to charge Tax to residents in
your local State Only or Everyone.
The option to charge Tax to residents in
your local Country Only or Everyone.

Do not
over look this feature. It is one of the best features of this system.
Charging State Sales Tax or Not for Internet Purchases has become a
huge Issue for Internet Merchants and the Federal and State
Governments.

use web page with icon buttons to the different areas of your shopping cart system.

Products Database:
As mentioned above, adding your product's details
to the database is quick and easy. Comparable to filling out
someone's guestbook on their web site. You simply type in the product's information, such as price,
description, details, stock quantity, image file names and so on, in form input
boxes and click Submit! That product is now for sale. [Demo]
Create
categories to organize the store. You can create an unlimited number
of categories. Each top level category can have 3 levels of
sub categories for a total of 4 levels of categories.
e.g. Clothes
> Men's > Shirts > T-Shirts
- is 4 levels of categories.
You can
create an unlimited number of sub categories for each parent category.
As
categories are created links, with the name of the category automatically
appear on your shopping pages, with links to any sub categories.
When a customer checks out for their very first
purchase, they create an account. This account is kept in your
database. You can view it at anytime. Thereafter, when the customer
makes a purchase, all they need to do is login with their email
address and password. Credit Card Information is not kept nor should

Once a customer creates an account, they can login
to the customers area to view order details, track their order or edit

Customer Email List:
When
a customer creates an account they must enter their email address,
this is used for login. Now
that you have everyone's email address you might as well use them
for advertising and to keep your customers up-to-date on sales and new products.
Login to Control Panel, go to Send Mail, enter a Subject, enter Body
Text and click "Send To List"! Everyone on the list receives a copy of the email. [Demo]
Email Lost Passwords:
Ecomm - Professional has the ability
to email a customer's lost password to them automatically, at their
request. If a returning user's login attempt fails, they are
re-directed to a page where they can enter their email address and
have their password emailed to them.
Contact
and Disclaimer Pages
A
Contact page and a Disclaimer page is included.
The
Disclaimer is used to hold your Disclaimer or Sales Agreement.
Customers must check a check box stating that they have read your
disclaimer. This information is stored in your database.
The
Contact page is a web page form that customers can use to contact
you. The
contact page contains your company information. This information is

We have integrated the Secure PayPal
Payment System into Ecomm Professional V6.5. By using PayPal you save big
time. There's no need for a merchant account. There is also no need for a security certificate
because the credit card information is only entered on a secure
PayPal page. They provide the certificate.
